On the job of a routine delivery, Dodger finds himself in the middle of an outright mystery. A small town’s money has gone missing from their fine and fancy bank, but no one seems to know how it happened, considering the vault was locked up tighter than a miser’s fist clutching his first penny. With a little help from the professor’s weird science, it’s up to Dodger and the local town drunk to bring the culprit to justice and retrieve the town’s wealth. It’s all about of the size of things, in this latest Railroad! tale.
I really hate Tonia Brown…seriously, I think I hate her. Not because she’s a murderer or abuses puppies or anything, but because she writes a fun tale that is continually entertaining and engaging and then stops. Yes I know I could follow along with one chapter a week over at Railroad, but I think that would be even worse than reading volume by volume.
So as you can see, I have gotten my hands on Tonia Brown’s most recent release titled Railroad! Volume 4: The Size of Things and I’m sure it can be seen by my opening statement that I loved it. Rodger Dodger is back along with Professor Hieronymus J. Dittmeyer, our beloved tin man Mr Torque, Ched and the rest of the crew of the Sleipnir. In The Size of Things Rodger is on the case of a very mysterious bank robbery…the money simply disappeared. As always, with the help of some new friends and some of the Professor’s gadgets Rodger is on the case….no matter how small.
I adore the characters, Ms. Brown has created each one has their own distinct personalities and what personalities they are! So much fun! Add in the wonderfully entertaining yarn that is being spun over the course of each volume with clever gadgets and gizmos and you have a recipe for a steampunk tale of epic proportions.
Railroad! Volume 4: The Size of Things is a definite must read for all who enjoy reading fun and entertaining tales set in the old west with a steampunk edge to them, but you MUST start with Volume 1.
