During a camping trip, Jasmine Taylor is taken by a mysterious man, Orion, to a world she didn’t think would be possible to exist. Tamporlea is a beautiful world filled with magical Gypsies and unusual expectations of its inhabitants. However, she quickly faces betrayal within it’s walls and a war between the three Gypsy kingdoms. Jasmine must choose to either return home and forget Tamporlea‘s existence, or rule this mysterious kingdom as their Queen, but can she do everything that is expected of her?
It has been a long time since I’ve read a fantasy book and I truly forgot how enjoyable a well written fantasy can be. The details the author used to describe the world Jasmine was introduced to were amazing and so vivid I wanted to become queen of Tamporlea! Yes there are certain aspects of Tamporlea that aren’t perfect, but I have to take a guess that some of the things I noticed are meant to be. I am, in fact, reading part 1 of a trilogy and I haven’t gotten the whole picture. Otherwise it’s just the occasional error missed in editing, which happens.
The characters Tiffany Lovering created within the world of Tamporlea were so much fun and, in my opinion, very realistic as to the situations they were presented and how they reacted. I could easily envision them in my head. Jasmine, the human who is brought into the world of Tamporlea to become their queen, is a smart and sassy gal that I think would be a great person to know in real life. She is strong, intelligent and thinks quickly on her feet. Callalilly is probably my favorite character. She’s spunky and smart, but unafraid to take on her role and do what she must to keep her Queen and world safe. Orion and Tyran are another great couple of characters we meet while learning about the beautiful land of Tamporlea.
While I have a guess as to where things may be heading I look forward to learning more as the story progresses into Unjust (book 2) and Reunification (book 3), which I hope to get my hands on soon. The world the author created was one of beauty and magic, yet with qualities I am interested to see if Queen Jasmine chooses to change or leave alone. In a nutshell, based simply on the first book I have to say Tamporlea is a must read for Young Adult and Adults who are fans of the fantasy genre.
Tamporlea can be purchased for Amazon Kindle by clicking the cover image above. Even if you don’t have a Kindle, don’t forget about apps you can use for your phone or desktop. There are always ways to enjoy a great book!
